Welcome! My name is Bryce Moore, I am 30 years old and live in Laconia, NH. When people ask where I am from and I say Laconia they always look confused, but once you mention Laconia Bike Week, they usually catch on. I have two fur babies, my doggo named Silas and a kitty named Finnegan. They are my best little buddies and shadows, and just like having a child, I haven't peed alone in 8 years.
My family means more to me than they may ever know, and I will dive deeper into that as we get to know each other more. I have a little brother, I say little lightly, because he is 6'3" now and towers over me. He is a Tooling Engineer and has a mechanical engineering degree. I on the other hand went to beauty school, and somehow ended up retiring from that at 25 and getting into sales. I am currently a Sales Account Manager in the Aerospace world and sell airplane parts to many major Airlines. If you would've asked me at 18 where I thought id be at 30, it wouldn't be where I am now, but I am happy where I am.
In my free time I enjoy hiking and boating with my boyfriend William. He is my rock, my biggest supporter and my best friend (well, Catherine will always have him beat - but we will get to that later as well) I met William at a time in my life where I had given up on the idea of dating or finding someone to spend my life with, but I am so thankful that he was brought into my life because I can't imagine my life without him.
In 2022 I was diagnosed as BRCA II Positive, and for those who aren't aware of what that means, I will give a quick definition: A positive test result indicates that a person has inherited a known harmful variant in BRCA1 or BRCA2 (these are typically called “pathogenic” or “likely pathogenic” variants on laboratory test reports) and has an increased risk of developing certain cancers.
In light of facing my gene, I find it helpful to talk about it instead of bottle it up, so then began a dream...to start a blog along my journey of my preventative care and the BRCA gene. So here we are. This blog is where my journey begins, I hope you'll stay to follow along.
xo Bryce
